EXAMPLE OF DESIGN PROCESS FOR A BATHROOM
Preplanning Phase :
a. Site visit to measure/photograph
b. Discuss preliminary scope of design requirement
c. Budget
d. Clients to provide some inspiration images
d. Letter of Agreement sent to clients to sign and return
Preliminary Schematic Design:
a. CAD floor plan drawn of existing conditions
b. Space planning if bathroom is extended or layout moved
c. CAD floor plan of new bathroom layout if required
d. Product selection-visit showrooms
e. Paint color suggestions
f. Tile suggestions
g. Illustrate suggested bathroom scheme on a digital mood board and 3D sketches
Second Phase of Schematic Design:
After the initial design review, modifications will be made to the preliminary schematic design based on the clients direction.
Third phase - Design Development :
a. Based upon the approved schematic design and product selection Studio K Interiors will provide and documentation as required to establish a clear description and understanding of the proposed project.
b. Vendors may need access to the property to measure for approved custom furniture.
c. Studio K Interiors will provide a full product list with pricing, vendor name and design boards.
e. CAD elevations with product schedule/list and details for contractors.
Construction Documentation
Based on your approved Design Development, Studio K Interiors will provide any necessary construction drawings that might be required for electrical work and or custom furniture construction. This can be used by the contractor, but the contractor will need to provide necessary drawings for permits. Drawings created are conceptual and are for design purposes only.
Final Phase:
a. Products to be ordered and paid for by the client.
b. Product to be delivered to the location and received by the Client. If the Client cannot be home to receive the products then it can be arranged for Studio K Interiors to be at the location for delivery.
c. Clients can use Tradespeople of their choice, or those that are recommended by the Contractor or Studio K Interiors can contact required Tradespeople to complete the necessary work.
d. The Designer can be on site to assist the process from a design perspective.
e. A binder will be provided for the contractor with all the CAD drawings and installation pdf’s of the products being used.
